My name is Genny Henry and my experience as an Occupational Therapist and as a Certified Health and Wellness Coach is the perfect blend of training to serve you because true wellness is not just our physical health but our mind, body, and spirit. Throughout my 28 year career I have worked with individuals with neurological, orthopedic and other physical disabilities. I have gone through the journey of my father having Alzheimer's and I am now experiencing what it is like to be on the caregiving side with my mother who has Parkinson's.
I was inspired to be a coach because I saw a gap in healthcare in the areas before and after disease or injury. I desire to be on the side of prevention to partner with clients to help prevent the illness, disease, or injury through addressing areas such as exercise, nutrition, mindfulness, sleep, stress management, spirituality and socialization. I have also witnessed the need for coaching after and through the diagnosis, disease, or disability to navigate life.
I want to empower people to develop goals towards achieving their best life within their circumstances while cultivating meaning and purpose even through the challenges life throws at us.
I have personally greatly benefited from coaching to achieve my own health and wellness goals while managing an aging parent, perimenopause, empty nest transition, career change, recovery from shoulder surgery and I feel the best I ever have! I have also witnessed the benefit of my mother receiving coaching to navigate her changing circumstances providing opportunity for growth, joy and peace even with the curve balls Parkinson's throws her way.
My specialty is working with adults with a desire to gain greater health and wellness, those wanting to maximize their retirement years, individuals with physical limitations and caregivers. Coaching works! Coaching changed my life and I want to pass on this gift to the countless people that could benefit from having a partner with them on their journey to living their best life!
"We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us." Joseph Campbell
